'Hang in There' Acrylic on Canvas
'Yellowwood Lake'
Acrylic on Canvas (36"x36")
$4,600
This piece, "Hang in There," is a bold and colorful study of one of my favorite subjects. It features a bright red-eyed tree frog clinging to a vibrant green stem, captured in a moment of steady focus.
The composition uses a deep, matte black background to make the electric greens, blues, and oranges of the frog truly stand out. It is a high-contrast piece designed to grab your attention from across the room and bring a sense of energy to any space.
About the Piece
I used acrylic on canvas to create a balance between smooth gradients and fine, detailed textures. If you look closely, the body of the frog is built with thousands of tiny dots of color, adding a layer of depth and life to the skin. The vertical orientation of the stem gives the piece a sense of height and movement, as if the frog is right in the middle of its climb.

Why I Painted It
Frogs are such fun, expressive creatures to work with. They are symbols of transition and luck, and I think there is something very relatable about the idea of just hanging on. I wanted this painting to be more than just a nature scene. I wanted it to be a piece that feels encouraging and full of personality.
Life can be a climb, but there is so much color to be found along the way. My goal is for this little guy to act as a bright, cheerful reminder to keep moving forward and to find the joy in the journey.
"I love the way these frogs seem to glow against a dark background. I hope this piece brings a spark of resilience and a big splash of color to your home."
